Bormio

Bormio is a beautiful town situated in the heart of the Alta Valtellina, a large basin, at an altitude of 1,225 meters. It is rich with history and tradition.

Bormio is both a summer and winter holiday resort and is protected by the Stelvio National Park that, in the summer, guarantees the possibility of excursions, trekking, golf and summer skiing on the slopes of the Passo dello Stelvio and, in the winter, the slopes and facilities offer skiing at the highest level. Its popular traditions, the Bormio Spa and its typical cuisine make it a unique locality.

In addition to skiing Bormio is known for its thermal baths, mentioned since Roman times. The spa facilities are three: the Bormio Baths, located in the center of town, and two establishments, the New Baths and the Old Baths, about 4km towards Livigno.

Bormio is an important holiday resort. Tourists are attracted forĀ its traditions anchored over centuries of history, from the typical cuisine with its cheeses and wines. The core of the local tourist industry are winter sports, ranging from skating to sled-dog to snowboarding, but especially nordic and alpine skiing, which can be practiced also in summer on the Stelvio Pass glacier.
