How to get to Bormio
Exiting the motorway in Milan, one takes state road number 36 Milano-Lecco-Colico, all dual carriage-way, and then state road number 38 of the Stelvio up to Tirano (165 kms). The road then continues from there to Bormio (207 kms).

- from Val Camonica, across the Aprica Pass to Tirano and then on to Bormio.

- from the north, coming from Switzerland (Zernez in Engadina) it is possible to enter Valtelline and arrive at Livigno through the Drossa Tunnel.

During summer time:
-San Marco Pass (from the Bergamo Region) then Morbegno, Sondrio, Tirano and Bormio
-Mortirolo Pass (from the Brescia Region), then Mazzo, Grosio and Bormio
-Gavia Pass (from the Brescia Region) that takes you to Santa Caterina Valfurva and then to Bormio
-Stelvio Pass (from the Bolzano Region) that descends into Bormio
-Santa Maria Pass (from Switzerland) that connects with the Stelvio Road and then Bormio
-Forcola Pass (from Switzerland) that descends to Livigno and then to Bormio

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is the railway from Milano-Lecco-Sondrio-Tirano. The direct trains take about 2 hours 30 minutes from Milano to Tirano. From Tirano there is a bus service to Bormuio.
There is also a public bus service that connects Livigno with Zernez in Switzerland. From St. Moritz in Switzerland, with the Retica railway, one can arrive in Tirano and then use the bus service to get to Bormio.
